FAQ

In what scenario would I need to buy a Pack for Collective Heating?

The Pack for Collective Heating is suitable for homes that do not have a central thermostat and are heating through collective heating (a boiler shared with other homes) or district heating (heating network supplied by geothermal energy or cogeneration). In these cases, you can have up to 20 Smart Radiator Valves per installation.

How do the Smart Radiator Valves work?

The Smart Radiator Valves use 2 built-in temperature sensors to gauge the temperature of the room. They compare the temperature measured in the room to the setpoint temperature. They then control the flow of hot water to the radiator to reach the desired temperature in the room.

Can I buy a Pack for Collective Heating to add to my Netatmo Thermostat?

No, the Thermostat’s Relay would then conflict with the Relay from the collective heating pack. If you already have a Netatmo Thermostat, you will need to buy one or more Additional Smart Radiator Valves instead.

What’s the maximum distance between a Smart Thermostat and Relay?

Up to 100 metres in an open space. We recommend placing the Relay in a central room in your home.

Can I install the Netatmo Smart Radiator Valves on any type of radiator?

The Smart Radiator Valves are compatible with 90% of hot-water radiators. Compatibility depends on the valve body fitted on the radiator. 6 types of adapters are included in the packs of Smart Radiator Valves (6 adapters per valve) and 5 additional types of adapters are sold separately on the Netatmo e-shop. For more information, check.netatmo.com.

What happens if I buy the Netatmo Smart Radiator Valves and my radiators are part of the 10% that are not compatible?

We recommend you contact a professional to replace your current valve bodies with compatible thermostatic valve bodies.
