It is designed to protect you from physical break-in attempts such as picking, drilling, pulling, cutting and hammering. The cylinder, designed by Netatmo, is made from highly durable stainless steel, reinforced with an anti-drilling pad and 3 security pins for optimum protection.
Encrypted and protected against hacking attempts
It is also built to withstand cyber attacks, so the Smart Door Lock isn’t connected to the internet. You can only unlock the door through fully encrypted secure Bluetooth communication with a smartphone, or via the Smart Keys. Only the unique Secure Element built into each lock can validate the actions of unlocking, locking and adding a new key.

Need a spare key? Don’t waste any more time waiting on the locksmith. With the Home + Security app, you can add as many Smart Keys as you want with ease. You’ll no longer need to change your locks if your key is stolen or lost, just deactivate it in the app.

How many Netatmo Smart Door locks can I install in the app?
There are no installation limits on your account.
However, to ensure the best experience when using the Home + Security app, we recommend you install a maximum of 10 Netatmo Smart Door Locks on your customer account.*
*This limit may be lower depending on the other Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) products on your account.
Is the Smart Door Lock compatible with my front door?
The Netatmo Smart Door Lock is compatible with doors that are equipped with a euro cylinder. It can be installed on most doors with a maximum thickness of 10 cm (installation of an extension kit may be required, sold separately). It is compatible with doors fitted with both monopoint and multipoint locks. Doors fitted with lift-up handles are also compatible.

Is the Smart Door Lock motorised?
The Smart Door Lock is not a motorised lock. It is used in the same way as a traditional lock, meaning manual action is required to lock/unlock the door.
Insert the Smart Key into the Door Lock, then turn it as you would normally with a conventional lock/key.
When locking/unlocking the door with a smartphone, wait a few seconds to establish a secure, encrypted Bluetooth connection with the lock. Then, simply turn the Smart Door Lock’s outside knob to operate the cylinder.
Can I control the Smart Door Lock remotely?
For maximum security, the Netatmo Smart Door Lock communicates with the smartphone via fully encrypted Bluetooth, and not Wi-Fi. It therefore does not connect to the internet. You must be within Bluetooth range of the Door Lock to manage the Smart Keys (adding and deleting them).
However, you can send a smartphone invite to your guests remotely, from anywhere, so they can lock and unlock the door to your home via Bluetooth, using their smartphone.
How does sharing access with my guests work?
Sending a smartphone invitation is handy if you don't want or aren't able to give your guests a Smart Key (if you're not at home, for example).
To send your guests a temporary invite to let them lock and unlock the door with their own smartphone:
— Follow the steps in the Home + Security app. You can choose how you wish to send this invite (email, SMS, WhatsApp, etc.).
— Once sent, your guests will receive the invite on their smartphone. This will contain a link to download a straightforward and lightweight app: Home + Guest. They will be able to access the home in a matter of seconds, with no need to create an account or password.
The only purpose of the Home + Guest app is to allow guests to lock/unlock the door with their own smartphone when they are within Bluetooth range of the Smart Door Lock.
What level of protection does the Smart Door Lock and Keys offer?
The Netatmo Smart Door Lock is an electronic cylinder made of high-strength stainless steel that fits into an existing door lock.
This cylinder, designed by Netatmo, meets the strictest requirements in terms of physical and electronic security and burglary resistance, in accordance with European standard EN15684 and the SKG*** certification.
It is reinforced with an anti-drilling plate and 3 safety pins, making it highly resilient against physical attacks such as drilling, cutting, pulling and forced entry. Its design also makes it impossible to pick.
The product is also designed to withstand hacking attempts and is certified by the independent AV-TEST organisation, the leading institute for cybersecurity. For more information, visit www.av-test.org/
The door can be unlocked with a smartphone using a fully encrypted, secure Bluetooth Low Energy communication protocol, or with the Smart Keys, which are based on certified and protected NFC technology. All exchanges with the Door Lock are secured using state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithms.
