Netatmo and Somfy announce compatibility between their Smart Thermostat, Radiator Valves, and the TaHoma Smart Hub
Netatmo and Somfy, two leading French smart home companies, have announced a new milestone in their partnership to help users better manage their home heating comfort.
The Legrand group — which includes Netatmo — and Somfy are long-standing partners. The TaHoma Hub, developed by Somfy, is already compatible with various Legrand solutions, including Netatmo products such as the Air Quality Monitor and Weather Station. Now, Somfy is extending its ecosystem to include the Netatmo Smart Thermostat and Radiator Valves, giving users a simplified and unified smart home experience to optimise their heating comfort and energy savings. This compatibility will enable Tahoma users to control their heating in a more intuitive and connected way, and automate their solar protection based on the home’s temperature.
With TaHoma’s compatibility with the Smart Thermostat and Radiator Valves, Netatmo and Somfy are making the user experience even simpler.
Users will be able to:
Manage the entire ecosystem from their TaHoma app.
Adapt their heating schedule to their routine in the winter for maximum comfort and energy savings. Like all other smart devices, the heating can be easily managed using suggested scenes. For example, with the ‘Arrival’ scene, the lights are switched on, the alarm is deactivated, and the Thermostat switches to comfort mode when you arrive home. When you leave, the ‘Leaving’ scene turns off the lights and other electrical appliances, and the heating switches to away mode.
Further automate their solar protection in the summer, based on the home’s temperature, using the sensor built into Netatmo Thermostats/Radiator Valves. The shutters close automatically to prevent overheating in the home when the indoor temperature gets too high. This ensures optimum solar protection, improving comfort and reducing the need for air conditioning.
‘We are delighted to continue our partnership with Somfy and offer users even more innovative solutions,’ says Alexandre Menu, General Manager of Netatmo. ‘The compatibility of Netatmo’s Thermostat and Radiator Valves with the Tahoma app marks a major step toward a fully connected home. This allows our users to enjoy more of the benefits of home automation while reducing their energy consumption. At Netatmo, we are firmly committed to reducing the energy footprint of our products. Every innovation is designed to deliver optimal energy efficiency, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.’
‘At Somfy, we believe in interoperability for the benefit of our users. This strategic partnership with Netatmo is another step toward smarter energy management. Users will now be able to control both their heating and other home devices from a single interface, as well as automate their solar protection based on the temperature of their home, improving their comfort while reducing their energy impact. This new functionality is perfectly aligned with Somfy’s commitment to innovative and responsible technological solutions,’ says Rodolphe Jacson, Vice President Connected Services, SOMFY Group.
The Netatmo Thermostat and Radiator Valves are compatible with the TaHoma app from today.
