In the smart camera market, privacy is a huge concern and a crucial element — even more so if you want to put a camera inside your home. Users want features that give them peace of mind. Confidentiality is at the heart of Netatmo’s product development process, ensuring that personal data is automatically protected, minimising the risk of privacy breaches. 

It therefore makes sense that one of the camera’s key features should seek to address these concerns. The feature is called “Netatmo Smart Privacy”: the new Indoor Camera Advanced is equipped with a mechanical privacy shutter. With facial recognition and geolocation, the Camera can automatically close the shutter when you arrive home, so you will no longer be filmed. Similarly, the Camera detects when you leave through geofencing technology —which can identify if you have left a perimeter around your home before automatically reopening the shutter. 

Effortless, free-standing installation  

The new Camera Advance is available in two colours (black and white) and can be installed in three different ways: on a piece of furniture, ceiling or wall, with a wall mount. It also has a swivel head and 130-degree viewing angle to provide optimum surveillance in each room.  

For maximum flexibility, Netatmo offers two accessories: one allows connection via PoE while the other replaces a plug socket. 

Although Netatmo focuses on building devices that stand out for their functional added value, it has not abandoned the technical features of the products. Its powerful image signal processor, for example, provides 2K HDR quality images at 30 frames per second for clear, crisp and detailed results. 

The camera is also compatible with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and adapts to all home networks. What’s more, It uses MIMO technology that significantly improves coverage and quality of HD streaming by using multiple antennas to send and receive data.  

To meet the diverse needs of users, the Camera also features high-quality microphones, which not only enable communication through the camera but also versatility in use in that they can monitor children or assist with at-home care for the elderly. Once again, Netatmo has carefully integrated this new feature with beamforming technology, which stops any background or ambient noise from passing through. Two microphones capture and optimise sounds to eliminate echoes. The 80-decibel loudspeaker lets you react and communicate instantly, clearly and remotely. 

The new Netatmo Camera is also wired — not battery-powered. This decision was made by the company to give daily peace of mind to the user. Once installed, there’s no need to recharge the battery, adjust the view or renew a subscription. 

Finally, the Indoor Camera Advance can interact with the Netatmo Smart Siren and Outdoor Cameras, whether or not they are equipped with a siren. This interconnectivity allows users to create their very own alarm system for full protection.
